Earlier this year the University of Latvia, the University of Agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Rural Support Service of Latvia in cooperation with educational institutions organized a competition “Be active! Do it together! ”. Children together with teachers and their families worked together and created a variety of interesting works that illustrated our daily habits and emphasized the importance of healthy eating in general.
Participants from different regions of Latvia participated in the competition with joy and enthusiasm. It was great opportunity for children to learn about eating traditions and typical dishes of their region, as well as to prepare a healthy and delicious food, which is popular in the region.
After a thorough evaluation of received works, the winners of the competition were announced. Children received surprise baskets with healthy vegetables and fruits in various places and regions of Latvia!
