The Rural Support Service of Latvia and the Ministry of Agriculture invite pre-school educational institutions and all the pupils in Latvia (grade 1- 9) participate in the contest “School Milk and Fruit”. Children are invited to gather experience stories reflecting how the programme “School Milk and Fruit” is being implemented in educational institutions. The competition will take from December 11, 2017 until February 28, 2018.
Drawings, collages, videos, animations, photo collages, comic books or other visual works created as stories may be submitted. The winners of the competition will receive educational games, sets of sports equipment, but the best of the best will gain the opportunity to come to Riga and visit interesting events. If the winners will be citizens of Riga, they will have an opportunity to visit another city of Latvia.

This is already the second competition organized within the framework of EU programme “School Milk and Fruit”. In the framework of the first competition, all the pupils in Latvia (6-14 years old) were asked to develop a common logo and slogan for programmes “School Fruit” and “School Milk”. Winners: best logo – Paula Molodavčenko, Ludza City Gymnasium, 7th grade, best slogan – Vilis Veldre, Harijs Veldre, Kuldiga Alternative Primary School, 2nd grade.
