Till April 22, 1-4th grade students had opportunity to participate in the creative work competition “My Healthy Menu”, which is organized in the frame of the programme “School Milk and Fruit”. Children from all over Latvia applied for this competition, where it was possible to show their knowledge about healthy nutrition. In total there were 581 applications received.
Now the work of jury has begun. Received applications will be evaluated by nutritionist Lizete Puga, rallycross driver Reinis Nitišs and artist – painter, designer Ildze Ose.
The jury will determine winners for first three places in two class groups: 1.-2. grade, 3.-4. grade. Most creative and knowledgeable ones will get paid transportation and entrance tickets to one of the natural recreation places, while second and third place winners will get board games. Works also will be submitted for audience evaluation on the social media platform Facebook. Public votes will determine which class is going to win the sympathy prize – personalized water bottles printed with names of tudents and logo of the programme “School Milk and Fruit.
The purpose of competition is to emphasize the importance of milk and fruit consumption, their positive impact on health and well-being, as well as to promote the and strengthening healthy habits already in childhood.
Results will be published on the programme website, as well as on the social media Instagram and Facebook.
This competition is organized by the Rural Support Service of Latvia in cooperation with Ventspils High-Tech Park foundation, and it is financed by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund and state.
